1. Play for fun, within your means
Predicting football with friends should be enjoyable. Money staked on Matchwik can be lost, and no prediction is guaranteed. Please:
- Only stake money you can comfortably afford to lose. Never use rent, bills, savings, school fees or borrowed money.
- Treat it as entertainment, not as a way to make an income or to recover earlier losses.
- Decide a budget before you play, and stick to it even if you win.
- Take regular breaks, and do not play when you are upset, stressed, or have been drinking.
- Keep track of the time and money you spend. Your wallet history shows every stake, win and deposit.
2. Adults only
You must be 18 or over to use Matchwik. If you share a device with someone under 18, keep your account signed out and your password private. If you think a person under 18 has an account, please tell us at support@matchwik.com and we will close it.
3. Signs it may be becoming a problem
- Staking more than you planned, or more often than you planned.
- Chasing losses by staking again straight away to win the money back.
- Thinking about Matchwik or football stakes most of the day.
- Hiding how much you play, or lying about it.
- Borrowing, or skipping essentials, to fund stakes.
- Feeling anxious, irritable or low when you are not playing, or when you lose.
If several of these sound familiar, it is worth stopping and talking to someone.
4. Taking a break or closing your account
From your account, under Settings → Responsible Play, you can:
- pause your account (self-exclude) for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 6 months, or permanently. Once started, this can't be undone early by you;
- set a limit on how much you deposit per day, week or month, and lower it or remove it later.
Both take effect immediately. Money in your wallet can be withdrawn to your verified bank account at any time, including while self-excluded. If you'd rather we close your account, or exclude you permanently ourselves, email support@matchwik.com from the address on your account and we will act on it as soon as we can. You can also simply avoid adding money: you only stake what is already in your wallet, and joining a Circle or browsing fixtures costs nothing.
5. Getting help
You do not have to deal with this alone. Talk to someone you trust: a friend, family member, or your doctor or a counsellor. If gambling is affecting your health, relationships, work or finances, professional support services exist and are confidential.
You can always reach us at support@matchwik.com, and we will treat what you tell us in confidence.
6. Fair play
Every Contest and pool is settled automatically from official results, and points are the same for everyone. See How points work for the exact numbers, and our Terms for how disputes are handled.
